Miho Kitamoto Painter / Contemporary artist
Born 17 July in Hokkaido / Lives and works in Tokyo
MFA in Oil Painting, Tama Art University / BA in Oil Painting, Tama Art University
Assistant teacher at Hokkaido Institute of Art and Design / Lecturer in oil painting at Hokkaido Institute of Art and Design, Tokyo University of the Arts Special Course / Lecturer at Miyanomori Art Club   

Miho Kitamoto's artistic practice reinterprets social issues such as the environment, gender issues, illness, and the death of a family member through paintings, drawings, photography, installations, and other visual art forms, drawing on small discoveries made in everyday life. By observing the emotions that arise from these works, she encourages viewers to reconsider their concerns. Her work consistently focuses on the theme of "compassion," demonstrating an approach to social issues in the same way a mother would comfort her child.
